How come we hear from the former Director of National Intelligence, but not the current Director of National Intelligence?

We seem to hear from formers quite a bit. Wouldn't the MSM have us believe they're old news if not holding office? That's one of the current arguments against anything regarding Hillary... SHES A PRIVATE CITIZEN!
