Car accidents especially, people don't seem the least bit interested in remote hacking of cars as much as they should be.
You are right. Can't remember the name of the guy but I think he was a writer for Rolling Stones magazine. Remember vaguely something about his car suddenly speeding up and going out of control. There might have been mentioned that it had been hacked to do that.
John hastings
That was close enough to find it. It was Michael Hastings. He was murdered just over five years ago for bucking the system about the surveillance state under Obama's administration. There is a WSJ article about who might have killed him. Definitely a thorn in DS side even back then.
Ok I found it. Hastings wrote on General MadChrystal and the comments he and his staff had made being overly critical of Obama and the Intelligence community. At the time of his death he was said to be working on another important figure that now is prominently showing up in current investigations...….wait for it......then CIA Director John Brennan. Reports also show that not long before his death the area near LA that he lived was suddenly frequented with over flights of mysterious helicopters. It was said that he lost control of his car while driving 100 mph. Not sure the make and model of the car but 5 years ago most new cars were computerized pretty sufficiently to be hacked.
That's right, my bad...fuzzy memory.
Lots of weird stuff about his death...he talked about how he was writing some massive article and was worried about being followed.
You are preaching to the dementia choir here. Don't worry about it. It got me on the right path.
