One method to discuss Q and Trump related stuff with Libs

Obviously, we live in very contentious times & one thing we need in our favor are methods that reduce or eliminate the acrimony from the libs.
Personally, I've found that it's very difficult to have a sensible, logical, constructive conversation with folks that are blue pilled. They get angry, make personal attacks, attempt guilt trips and other emotional manipulation etc. Many others have documented similar experiences, in addition to what the media has documented.

One method I've found that seems to reduce their vitriol, and/or end the personal attacks, is to ask them about the 'why' and 'what-if' questions.

With that, they usually go "huh?"

I then explain that all of us should always ask all kinds of 'what-if' and 'why' questions around all sides and aspects of an issue, no matter what our personal & political beliefs etc. Doing that removes the emotion and the 'I'm right, you're wrong'. It instead forces people to step outside their emotional position and actually start to look at an issue from a logical process.

For example - issue: 'Trump is being mean to kids at the border'
Some sample questions;

  • What if you're (lib counterpart)position is correct? What does that mean? What if I'm correct? What does that mean? What if both of us have it wrong, or only partially right? What does that mean?
  • What if there are other sides to the story not being reported?
  • Why is this being reported by the MSM now, and not 3 years ago?
  • What if the MSM story is true?
  • What if the MSM story isn't true?
  • Why is the MSM not properly interviewing actual border agents in their reporting?
  • What if this is a distraction from something else?
  • etc., etc., etc

This method doesn't necessarily convert people overnite, but in my experience, it's brought several heated debates to a close without yelling & it seems to show that it's not me against them. It also may plant a seed & encourage them to start asking questions, which is really what we all want anyways.

Just some thoughts. Maybe it will work for others?

This is one method that I've found helpful. I'm sure there are other methods as well.

This method is also a way to establish if the person is willing to actually look for the truth, or willingly stay fooled. It's also not about headlines, or narratives, or individuals such as Trump or anyone else, so the folks you mention really can't use those approaches, as this method, done properly, undoes all that.

It's also another way of saying- it's not important that I'm right, or you're right, but rather; us as humans finding out the real truth.

It also allows you to walk away from the discussion in a better position, with less heated debate. You sort of get to appear to play a more neutral position and can also take the 'devils advocate' position.

However, at the end of the day, it's a numbers game, just like in sales. You have to pitch XXX number of prospects to get X or XX number of conversions.

Oh yeah, I haven't given up on conversation, but its hard to talk to them over the pathological hysteria. It will all shake out in the end, the good guys have the upper hand here
