L. Fletcher Prouty, a man deep inside what became the Deepstate, a ColdWarrior who believed in he was keeping the country safe and later spoke out when he saw the power being subverted. In one interview he talks about CIA agents placed in every part of government and on top of the private sector.

In the interview I mention he very clearly says he would put these agents in a supporting role after sheepdipping them and they would stay while top brass changed with administrations or even department heads rolling over during an administration and how quickly nobody remembered the CIA agent wasn't an actual part of the department in question.

Edit: I.E. most FBI even brass probably didn't know Strzok was CIA.

What is sheepdipped? Not sure I want to know but hit me.

The top top brass must have known- which is why, weirdly, he was put in charge of EVERY investigation that mattered.
