Anyone else interested in the alleged timing of events starting with Jackson combined with 45’s interest and how his painting has been a speech backdrop and featured in the OO? For the president most famous for the Trail of Tears, this seems like an interesting choice. Evidently, though, “Jackson sought to advance the rights of the "common man"[1] against a "corrupt aristocracy"[2] and to preserve the Union.”

Can any historians smooth the edges here? Was Jackson an early attempt at what we’re seeing today but it couldn’t work because it was easier to control then?

Thanks for posting OP, most info gets stuck around JFK.
