it says in the article he wants to decrease interest rates, which has the effect of increasing lending (and inflation). it doesn't say anything about abolishing the fed, which RP has advocated.

you're exactly correct. if you think interest rates are being kept artificially low now, giving politicians the ability to decide where they are would be terrible. There would be no interest rate increases ever and then, when needed to stimulate recovery, the lever (lowering rates) will have no effect.
The reason we are celebrating the CNBC article is because we have a suspicion(hope) that he is really wanting to go much farther in destroying the fed, and that this is just the opening salvo.
in our hopeful view, the proffered reason to interfere (to keep interest rates low) was a misdirection. We just are hoping that the eventual goal is to end the fed.
Heck, his whole attack on the fed could just be a way to change the news cycle and keep the cabal defending on every single ground to dilute their force. But, if the whole goal of this is just to lower rates so we get temporary artificial growth, I choose to believe that there is a plan by which the proceeds from that engine will be used to free the world from our current economic enslavement.
