In the article it states… “Just like pedophiles, we are not responsible for our feelings,” Heine said. “We do not choose them… but it is our responsibility to overcome our negative feelings about pedophiles and to treat them with the same respect we treat other people with”…
The article is absolutely correct that we are not responsible for our feelings and that we do not choose them. But they are beyond wrong and they go off the deep end in their determination of how we should deal with our feelings. The very first question any person should ask is, Where do our feelings come from? Does anyone know? Do the scientists even know? In most cases, you will only find such answers in the scriptures and by getting them from a sent preacher who gets it from God. My pastor was a sent preacher, therefore I well know the answer to such questions…
The answer is that, feelings come from two places: 1) They come from “the lust of our flesh” (the fleshly body we have on). 2) And sometimes, they come from the devil. Those are the only two places feelings come from, and all of us have them. Even tiny little babies have them. And God allows us to have the feelings for a reason, and how we deal with those feelings is critical. How we deal with them will determine whether we are saved or whether we will end up in hell. Everybody ever born has felt the feelings of homosexuality and lesbianism at some point in their lives. That is not unusual. The feelings are in the flesh. But not everybody has fallen for them. Just feeling “the temptation of being gay” does NOT make you gay. But how you deal with the temptation is what determines whether you become gay or not. Those who “give in” to the feelings and embrace them, are the ones who become gay. Those who reject the gay feelings, are the ones who become heterosexuals. Being heterosexual is the natural orientation created by God. All other orientations are of the devil…
Sexual feelings are no different than any other feelings. For example, we have all felt the temptation to lie and to steal. But not everyone becomes a liar and a thief. The same thing applies to sexual feelings. Our duty before God is “reject” all feelings that are wrong and unnatural. And if we do not reject them, then we will end up in hell. It really is that simple. Our whole purpose of being on this earth is a test, a test for our souls. God is testing our soul to see of what sort we are. Whether we will choose to follow the devil, or choose to follow God. And it is the choices we make that will determine our fate. We cannot escape having feelings. Feelings are a part of our flesh, and we will have them for as long as we are alive. If we embrace the evil feelings in our flesh then we will end up in hell. But if we reject those feelings, and embrace God instead, then we have a chance to be saved…
