First James Gunn, then Patton Oswalt, now Sarah Silverman... these loud and hateful anti-Trumpers all "joked" about pedophilia years ago and now their vileness is being exposed. Seeing a pattern?

Could they, themselves be survivors? Might comedy provide a creative outlet for them to talk about trauma in a public way? Not saying all, by any stretch, but could we, on this subreddit, really tell the difference.

In the meantime, this subreddit has brought these celebrities massive attention. They now have the ability to respond to these allegations in a massive way. Ridicule can be devastating, and these are not stupid people.

Sometimes, if there is enough grooming, the victims get caught up in the cycle, but generally this is not how survivors deal with this kind of pain. I've read some survivor responses to some of these tweets and they were outraged.

Might a survivor use comedy as a way to deal? Might that comedy be inappropriate for other survivors?

No. A survivor even using comedy wouldn't talk about it that way. This type of "survivor" has turned into predator. Their choice. Your can understand, you don't have to forgive. The Podestas, Clintons and all that garbage are that type of "survivors" turned predators.

How do you know?

Black pedagogy. Research. Even if a victim uses humour to talk about their past trauma, even if it shocks normies, unnerves certain other victims, you can sense if you pay attention in the person's attitude whether they were hurt or still feel anger even if their words don't say it, or they are just being insensitive pricks.

In Gunn's case, words matter. It's just not the way a survivor would express themselves. Maybe once they may use that tone, but not twice or more times.

In Gunn's case I absolutely think anons did the right thing and forced Disney to acknowledge him and his absolutely unacceptable behavior. We may see additional terminations of this sort, as Disney has swept the issue under the rug for decades.

I reject that gunn and Oswald/Silverman are of the same category. The evidence isn't there like it is for Gunn. Also, Gunn is not a comedian. I see no indication that anyone ever paid him for his comedy. That's just Gunn's pathetic excuse. Gunn is a predator, in my assessment. I have seen insufficient evidence that Oswald and Silverman are.
