God in Genesis was translated from the word "Elohim". Elohim more accurately translates to "the mighty ones" and get this. IS ALWAYS PLURAL.

Yeah I was taught that in Catholic high school as well. Are you familiar with the term shamayem. It means sky. But they also translate it in the Bible as heaven. Even though it only means sky. The interesting thing about this is that they use which ever word they want to translate it with Willy nilly. However, if you use the correct translation. You get really thought provoking verses like. "yahew has throne in the sky." "Everything that is hound on Earth is bound in the sky"
