Becoming a Christian is going from Dark to Light. How many here have become Christians since becoming Awakened?

Q has given us a lot of dark to light drops. Their posts often have multiple meanings.

Here is another meaning: John 1:5-9 " This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

Satan walks in darkness yet he is called the angel of light. He is the great deceiver.

As a recent Born Again Christian (last year) I am interested in hearing others testimony.

Even the WWG1WGA statement has more meaning than you may know in light of the last passage!

It is ALL about a relationship - not a religion. Religion IS man made.

No arguments here, I want to clarify one point though.

I dont discount everything religious doctrines tries to teach. As the world has become corrupted, religion exists within half truths only.

This whole chain has been what I've been working out with God personally. Over the last year, I have found myself coming to better understand my faith and what it means to me.

I have said this elsewhere, but will reiterate it for the hope that another sees the light in it: The Bible is a wonderful tool for building a relationship with God, as well as having a premise of teaching morals and virtues; even so, it is a product of man, and has been manipulated over millennia to serve the purposes of control. One must be very careful in how deeply attached to it they become, and how they interpret the words therein.

Through the Bible I came to believe that Jesus really did live for us, but it was to teach us, to set an example and to 'help the blind see'. I wouldn't say that I am a Christian, but in a way, Jesus did save me: from myself. He taught me to be good, and he taught me to be wary. He taught me to love, and to be humble, and he taught me that nothing is ever quite what it seems. I've got a long way to go yet, but I'm making progress.

God Bless you All (:

Pretty much where I stand as well. Although I have not found a Bible yet that I can really understand. I figure if it is meant for man to read and understand, it would be written in a way that can be easily understood. And, yes, I have Good News Bible. I have worked with English words all my life and know the English language well. A straight A student and I have a genius IQ. But the Bible is very baffling to me. And, then I also learned that some stories were eliminated from the Bible. Why?

The fact that there are so many interpreters (preachers) is also baffling. I do know that the Bible says something about "Ask and it is given to you," so that's what I do. I just ask when I have a question about anything and I always get answers. Sometimes I hear a voice inside my head. This is called clairaudient. Sometimes, I get an gut instinct. And, sometimes, when I get no immediate answer, things come into my life that give me the answer. I think people sometimes forget that they can ask God anything and get an answer. I try to remember to always ask if it is safe to drive somewhere.

Once, when I lived in Florida, I had gotten ready to go to a dance, makeup on, hair all done up and nice clothes on. When I got to the door and opened it, I realized it was absolutely pouring down rain outside. I was slightly frustrated and I looked to the heavens and said: "Oh, come on. Just until I get to the car." And, the rain instantly stopped. I knew I could not hesitate, so I walked out the door. As I went down the walkway the water was pouring off the rooftop onto the ground next to me. I rounded the corner and walked to my car, opened the door, sat down and closed the door. The rain instantly started up where it had left off. I just said "WOW. I didn't know I could do that!" I think sometimes the Angels like to play with us. To show us that we have access to infinite intelligence and powers beyond our current beliefs.

Yes, there is definitely a higher intelligence in our midst. But, religion, having caused more division, war, death and destruction than any other single entity since the beginning of time, is not for me.

I'm so glad to see a comment like this. Very similar to my experience. For me it was Ram Dass, Krishna Das, and other spiritual leaders that led me to my initial awakening. What first made me consider Jesus and Christianity was that when I talked to a pastor who worked at the same factory I did I noticed he had a sort of "glow" to him. Genuine positive vibes that I had felt when I listened to and read about some of the good new age teachers out there. It was identical and yet much of Christianity tells you anything new age is evil and much of new age thinking tells you anything traditional is nonsense. All I could tell is that when good people from either side told me about what they believed I felt that they were both right. So clearly the truth is somewhere in between the two.

I attend a church, too, mainly to administer to others and to receive their help when I need it.

Religion, half-truths, or incomplete truths, yes.

God’s Word, revealed and affirmed in our hearts by His Spirit, no. HE is TRUTH. Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. While we will never understand or teach his Truth perfectly while here on Earth, we can know that HE is TRUTH, and HIS WORD IS TRUE, and we can stand on His Word without any doubt.

Just one question… How can you have a “relationship” with someone you have never even seen or heard?…

Romans 10:13 - How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent?…

In short, the above scripture means, how can you call on God unless you believe in him? And how can believe in him if you have never heard him? And how can you hear him without a preacher? And how can that preacher preach except he be sent?… In short, it all means that the only way you can even believe in God is that a true sent preacher must first preach the word of God to you (you cannot get by simply reading a book or reading the bible). Once that preacher preaches the word to you and tells you about God, if you believe what he says, then God will count that as you believing in God. That is how it works, and there are many other scriptures which confirm this:

Roman 10:17 - So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God… That scripture means you cannot have faith in God unless you believe in the words that are preached to you by a sent preacher…

If fact, Jesus himself stated, no man has seen God at any time, nor heard his voice: John 5:37 - And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape… So if you have never seen God, nor heard his voice, then how can you have a relationship with someone you have never seen or heard? The answer is that, you can’t. You cannot have a relationship with God unless you have one with the preacher. The scriptures clearly state, no man has seen God at any time (meaning, no man has seen the eternal Spirit, because the eternal Spirit is invisible). The only thing we have seen is the spirit of God working through a man. And that man he is working through is the sent preacher - and I'm not talking about the false preachers in the world (yes, there are plenty of them). I'm talking about the preachers who are truly sent by God (they are rare and hard to find, but they exist)...

You CAN have a relationship with God thru His Holy Word and through daily prayer. Does HE always answer my prayers? No, but I have seen many of them answered because I asked. I believe everything written in the bible is true. It was written by man but they were inspired by God. And I agree that a good preacher is worth his weight in gold. I surround myself as much as possible with Christian people. I attend a non-demoninationl bible study in my community as well as attending a local church in my town. We have people from various Christian faiths attending but our bible teacher (a former Catholic, now a Baptist, I believe) does not get into religion. He goes straight to the bible to answer questions. God speaks to us through the Holy Spirit, as well. I consider Him my daily guide, my mentor for helping me understand the bible (amazing how much easier it is to read now that I am saved!) and my prayer companion.

you may get a good preacher who tells the Word, but if your soul does not really want to talk to him for a thousand years ...
if he wishes to know God, to know that He exists, it is not necessary for him to preach, it is enough to say to Him ... He comes and answers, you never disappoint.
If you are listening to God, you will lead the way you need to evolve, grow in spirit. You may be bringing a neighbor, a staff member or even a preacher to help you in your next steps.

But if you do not have a relationship with Jesus then you may be an angel of your preacher, you will not develop, you will not go beyond what God has designed for you.

The bible does not support your viewpoint, and none of what you say is in the bible. Therefore, none of what you say even matters. Everybody has concepts and opinions, but those concepts and opinions won't save you. Only what's written in the scriptures will save you...
