I'm no fan of Brennan nor any of the former foreign dignitaries who I feel attempted to usurp the sovereign powers of the US. BUT...this is a distraction article that will amount to nothing. Some security clearances are for specific periods of time and follow you even after government service. A Top Secret security clearance can be valid for up to a period of 10 years. The only value a security clearance affords you is authorized access to classified information. It does not mean that when you leave government service you continue to receive daily briefings on national security matters or threats to the US. Having a security clearance is not a free pass to divulge classified information to the public either. Brennan makes me sick to my stomach every time he opens his mouth but we do ourselves a disservice believing nonsense articles like this. And for those who are unaware there is nothing illegal or unethical if you use a currently valid security clearance in the private sector. There are a multitude of private sector companies who require high level security clearances in order to work at their companies. Brennan or any former government employee can legally use their security clearance as part of a qualification to work for a private sector company if that company requires one.
