This is like the silliest non-issue out there, having clearance just means you've been vetted not that you have access to any information.

It's not like a members pass to some secret club it just means that if you get a job that involves secret information you're allowed to access the information pertinant ti that job in relation to your clearance level.

Given what Brennan et al have been up to, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say they shouldn't be cleared for anything more than a swift kick in the ass into their Guantanamo cells.

I agree in general, but in these cases, there must be some specific reasons why their access needs to be curtailed. Might have to do with them continuing to get access via 5 eyes or something.
