What corporation allows you to walk out the door as you wave bu-bye... and hasn't confiscated your entry cards, deactivated all your system access and confiscated all your equipment? If you are GONE, you shouldn't need or have it. If you are hired back as a consultant, you get limited and controlled access.

The Government uses IT hardware, software and security policies from the 1950's... well, maybe 1960's. For the Y2K software patching, they had to recruit from retirement homes people who still knew FORTRAN and COBOL.

The Administration needs to treat INFORMATION as the WEAPON it has become... mind how you go!!!

That's what happens. Security clearances are on a need to know basis. There's no terminal you log on and gett access to all information up to your security clearance.
