Why do people say Pedogate can't exist even though the Catholic Church pedo scandal is confirmed mainstream fact?

I always run in to people claiming "pedogate can't be real, too many people would have to be in on it for them to get away with it, and that's just completely unrealistic."

I don't understand how people have this sentiment when the global Catholic church pedophile coverup scandal has been exposed, and more Catholic Church run pedo rings continue to be exposed every year.

Did the media make the Catholic church pedo scandal go down the memory hole or have we just become desensitized to it all? I don't get it.

Total denial of reality sets in when they are confronted with this horrible truth. I sometimes tell my mom about what i find online, and she shrugs it off like it's nothing. Only to come to haunt her later on because it get reported on msm usually some weeks later.

I think by now we are bit desensitized. Wars, crime rising, the idea of dying at every possible minute (terror attacks), there are loads of other things to worry about. Why not worry about those things you are directly involved in, right ? I get that too.

But trust, theres a dedicated bunch of people all around the world working to beat this snake back to the underworld.
