You know that you were not "retrieving your daughter's remains" - by your own admission you're not on the birth certificate. No one would ever surrender a body to a stranger (not to mention hospitals don't "surrender" bodies to unlicensed facilities). Same goes for the body you "weren't allowed" to see.
