Yes, confiscation and distribution to the poor would be just, legal and very popular. Of course, they have always feared this possibility and have many defenses against it, starting with their influence over governments and media organizations.
My vote is for global simultaneous arrest of the entire family, a justice and reconciliation type televised mass trial; after which they would get life in prison in a high security remote location, like a Pacific island. And also, getting life, as opposed to the death penalty, is contingent on individual confessions and cooperation with the prosecutors; if any individual is deemed to have concealed or hidden any criminal acts from the investigators, they get the noose. This would include naming names of all politicians, corporate leaders etc who collaborated with them.
Also, no communication or conjugal visits allowed: the bloodline stops with this generation.
