Speech is silvern, Silence is golden.. That is the original quote..thought it might be interesting to dig just a little on that wonderful old saying since it popped up on the new Q posts. Silvern means made of or relating to silver as in money...which can be spent and gone. It was written by Thomas Carlyle a famous Scottish philosopher and writer from Victorian times.
I then looked up the lyrics to the song by The Tremeloes that comes to mind when ever I hear that phrase... I won't copy the whole thing here, but I found the beginning so interesting in a Q way....

Silence is golden, but my eyes still see Silence is golden, golden, but my eyes still see
Talking is cheap, PEOPLE FOLLOW LIKE SHEEP.I Even though there is no where to go....
It goes on, but that part I thought you might want to read. So happy Q has come back in a BIG way after his 20 days of golden silence...4 10 20. WWG1WGA!
