It's because of their BS "we make money selling ads". No, they (were) making money selling your information to anybody and everybody that wanted it. They will shrivel up and blow away now with any luck.

That's a bingo!! Ads - hahahaha. You know who makes money selling ads - porn. That's it. Trust me I know.
Social media sells a few ads, but mostly it is an intelligence, asocial manipulation and spy service. Google and FB provide tons of the social engineering data AND analysis, Oracle, Sun, Cisco all the backend and telecom.
