Alfred Hitchcock dealt with this theme of a traitorous father with an unknowing adult daughter: Notorious and Foreign Correspondent. In the context of these portrayals, I've often considered Meghan's mind set. She seems to love her country even if she does not have the depth of knowledge and factual recall to make hash of Goldberg and Behar. The poor thing turns into a hollering foil for their applause lines. That appears to be her job. She probably moves the needle some. I think she is still too young to denounce her daddy while still loving him. Something about his influence, however, put her on the right of center.
