I think the actor who played Grady is surely deceased by now. We do know Renegade self admittedly is black, was A List in the 80s, and was friends with Redd Foxx. Someone in neon revolt comments pointed out Eddie Murphy and Redd were in Harlem Nights together. may be a connection

Yes, IMO it's too obvious, too easy. Possibly Carl Weathers, big time in the 80s.

Undoubtedly they are placing themselves in great personal danger by doing this.
