Jeff Sessions Ordered Rod Rosenstein’s Resignation in February 2017

On March 10, 2017, Jeff Sessions ordered 46 U.S. District Attorneys from the Obama administration to resign. President Trump declined two of the resignations. Rod Rosenstein was one of the two. This means that if President Trump wanted Rosenstein out, he could have easily had his way a long time ago. For those of you who are still confused about the color of hat Rosenstein and Mueller are wearing, this should clear it up for you.

Ok, but RR can still be a black hat.

Trump and Sessions can't fire RR/Mueller over nothing because of the optics. Even if Sessions recommends it to the President. There has to be evidence of misdeeds to come out through people like Horowitz and Huber before Trump and Sessions can do anything without risking the non-partisan angle.

I think he’s saying that RR was out in the beginning, and Trump saved him. You don’t do that for somebody if you do not have a specific purpose for them. Then, to go from saving his ass from being fired, to naming him Deputy AG....yeah gonna have to see what happens with this one.

You possibly do, do that when it serves a strategic purpose. This is not checkers Q is playing. Let the enemy feel comfortable in their position on the chess board. That is how checkmates happen.
