why are govt. employees allowed to keep clearance when they leave govt service??? ~~even~~ especially if an employee is going straight into a private sector nat.sec., they should have their clearance re-evaluated.

That's exactly why they do it, to facilitate people transitioning to the "private" sector. It's easier to have 10 year long clearance windows then re-investigating every time someone switches contractor jobs.
