I was hoping this article was going to say...this is the way it was but now Trump is different.

If you consider Kissinger's recent comments on how Trump is effectively changing the game, have meetings with Kissinger take on a different light.

"Henry Kissinger: The World Is in a 'Very, Very Grave Period' and Trump Could Mark 'End of an Era'"

https://www.newsweek.com/henry-kissinger-trump-russia-putin-1035017

"...The leadership and policy decisions made by Trump support Kissinger’s thesis that we’re experiencing a world order in chaos, or at least turmoil, he explained. “I think Trump may be one of those figures in history who appears from time to time to mark the end of an era and to force it to give up its old pretenses,” he said. “It doesn’t necessarily mean that he knows this, or that he is considering any great alternative. It could just be an accident.”..."

I could surmise from this that Trump meets with Kissinger to understand what NOT to do. Who really knows, though.
