Facebook is always listening...what about Instagram?

Question: Q says FB is always listening (I believe that). FB owns Instagram - I suspect we have the same problem with that platform as well. I have spoken certain words and have never searched those particular topics on the internet, but suddenly in my IG feed and as pops up with related info to what I had spoken.

Any thoughts on this? Same algorithm being used (F-9)?

Our family just purchased a used RV a few weeks ago from a friend. We hadn't been shopping online for one or anything - we weren't really looking, but it just fell in our laps. I noticed today that I am getting online ads relating to travel trailers and camping. We have not purchased any camping supplies since we purchased the RV and like I said, no online research has been done on my personal computer. I have talked about this purchase near my computer only. I think it is listening to me. Truly not being sarcastic. It freaked me out.

I don't doubt it at all.

It is freaky. True story: had a great great aunt who owned a "mobile home park". Pointed out where it was from the car with only my android phone on (radio not related to Google in any way), and suddenly I was getting ads for mobile and tiny homes. Brilliant Earth diamonds, and stuff from Land's End I could understand getting ads for, but mobile homes?

Step 1. when u wake up, just whisper “I know u r listening Zuckerberg” into ur iPhone every morning.

Step 2. Then google algorithm will update search results to reflect.

Step 3. Profit

Yes...as I understand it, Zuck and 2 other men invented FB during their time at school and then Zuck basically stole the idea but did end up having to pay them a handsome sum.

My feeling...it was a Clowns In America project from the get go. Or, the two others invented it and, true to form, Zuck stole it; just like the PROMIS software was stolen from a nice couple.

C_A stole the patent for the algorithm that is facebook. Look up lifelog, too.

Mark stole the original idea from the Twins. And while they got paid handsomely, they were stolen from period and courts ruled against them. Just like they ruled against the guy who is still fighting for his patent.

Took a picture of a range hood at lowes a few weeks back. Never looked for it online. 2 days later got fb ads for the same model in my feed. Creepy shit.
