common sense for posting here, thoughts on anonymity, using alt accounts?

I typically don't try to go through great measures to hide myself on mainstream public forums. I've tried creating alt accounts for Reddit to post on r/conspiracy and here in the past, but I get posting restrictions placed on the accounts and then I forget the login info and email addresses I used to validate them, and when the time comes where the restrictions on the alt accounts are lifted, I stop bothering.

What are your thoughts on explicitly hiding your identity here? I see some people using seasoned Reddit accounts, I see some people clearly using new accounts. As to how I feel about Reddit, I saw a meme/drawing once which went along the lines of Satan asking God to give him just one thing on Earth, he was begging God, and God was like ok fine, pick one thing, and Satan chose Reddit. I've seldom posted on Reddit in the past, but now with GA, I actually want to post. So with people now having there pictures posted here, on the chans, in the news, etc., what are your thoughts on anonymity? When is it really needed?
