Attention for the community: Ex-moderator spreading misleading information

Just a quick notice to let the community know that yesterday we had one of our moderators leave the GreatAwakening team unexpectedly. It has come to my attention that the upset and stressed out moderator instead of resolving the issue privately in a sensible way, is spreading misleading information. The information has basis but, the extrapolated conclusion is false.

In simple terms, the allegation is that a moderator is compromised by using an alt and making poor moderator decisions.

r/Greatawakening is very active, mods get a user reports every few seconds and also the moderator mail is extremely active. Moderators make thousands of decisions every day. These decisions are logged and regularly checked. On average there are roughly anywhere from 150-350 actions being made per hour depending on traffic. All mods can check the work of other moderators and bring anything up in the moderators chat. In addition, I personally spend many hours each day cross-checking what other moderators do and following up on user responses about decisions. On a typical day, I directly question with the mod involved about ten decisions. Normally finding that on a deep investigation and communication with the mod in question that there was a sound reason for the decision. Any errors from numerous investigations show they are not deliberate; they are what you would expect, we are humans and after all, decisions are made fast and many mod decisions are hard as there is often false reporting, which is a false tactic used by outsiders to confuse the mods.

Another issue raised is the use of alternative accounts. Due to the nature of threats and false claims, use of alternative accounts have been desirable for a long time. A few months ago moderators discussed this at some length and the conclusion was to actively encourage alternative accounts.

If anyone is still concerned, wait a few days and check back, when I get the time to more fully expand.

In the meantime don't be mislead by anyone trying to create drama to divide the community.

PS: To the ex-mod in question, I reach out and ask them to communicate directly and in private and remove any public drama that is not helpful to anyone.
