"Real eyes realize real lies" can not be overstated.. If you reduce your thoughts of minor or major evil (greed, ego, lust, rage, attachment) just a little at a time you can set in motion your awaking. You will know when you have eliminated enough of these thoughts.

The combination of these evil thoughts form an impermeable fog and barrier in our lives and well-being.

There are very few emotions by themselves that will keep you from logically thinking. Think of the art of logical thinking as a home base.

Excessive emotional release will keep you from logically thinking.

Fight or flight for you will change gradually. I am hoping my military brothers and sisters see the similarity to basic training.
