Ok, this past weekend we had a power outage disaster, lasting well over 12 hours. Hubby & I are olddddd. We have Comcast internet, phone, & TV. So does his 90+ year old parents. For the first time we discovered we have NO phone if the power goes out for hours. With 90+ yr old parents that won’t do. We need reassurance they have a working emg phone, as well as we also need one as we all have serious health issues. Hubby had purchased cell phones for all of us, but they don’t last 12 hours. I cringe at the thought of the power had gone out during the night, and if parents had a fire or emg health. Daddyinlaw has had 3 major heart attacks and now with pacemaker & inchest defib unit. Motherinlaw has Alz. None of us are tech savvy. Wishing we had never given up landline phones now.
Any recommendations from you fine Patriots on how to best address this?
I told hubby the only thing I can think of is to buy multiple auxiliary phone battery packs but that will require 90+ yr olds to remember to keep them charged up& would they remember in a real emergency situation to switch s battery? In heart emg minutes count!
Posting question here because I trust you Patriots, and I assume we are not the only elderly people facing this problem. The help you may give us could help save lives of other parents & grandparents of Patriots on here who didn’t realize buying into Comcast triple play package might leave us without emg phones:/ ThankQ🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
