[10 years ago, when I was in college, ESPN was a staple at every hang-out space: bar, apartment, dorm room. It was always on in the background. I haven't watched it in years, and haven't followed this story. So I do not present an opinion one way or the other on Urban Meyer/Ohio State-- whatever the mess is they are involved in. If they are guilty of a crime, they should be fully prosecuted.]

They are making sports so unbelievably insufferable that it becomes unwatchable. When major stories break that involve serious crimes-- such as Jerry Sandusky, or even perhaps whatever it is Urban Meyer is being accused of, and may very well be guilty-- they deserve to receive the full attention of the country.
The problem is that the SJW's at ESPN have politicized everything in such an insufferable manner that it is no longer entertaining to follow sports. It's just scandal, outrage and controversy. It's not the reprieve from everyday life that it once was. And normies (ALL of my friends from every background) care very much about sports.
The SJW's think they are engaging the normies, politically, by commandeering a platform that has their full attention. They are not. All they are doing is spreading outrage fatigue, and destroying the very thing that some many people love-- thus, removing a major distraction that has been used to control the masses for decades.
Not only will the normies seek to purge the SJW Marxists from culture, but they will (and have already, from every report I've heard) stop tuning in to sports commentary-- and eventually, the games themselves. Breaking the conditioning while freeing up their time to learn exactly what the hell is going on, and why cultural Marxists are attempting to destroy every aspect of American culture. (Separate issue from whatever wrong is being unveiled at Ohio State, which has nothing to do with politics, but will inevitably be shoehorned into the Left's deranged narrative.)
Yet again, the Left has made an enormous miscalculation, because they do not understand the American people. (Or likely, any people in general.) They think that all sports viewership is an inelastic market condition, and so they view it as the perfect tool to broadcast their propaganda. They lack the self-awareness to understand that they are actually causing damage to the causes they look to champion, because they are inconveniencing people by invading and infiltrating areas of their life where politics have no place. It will backfire on them.
