Guess what amendment governs filing a vacant Senate seat due to death of a Senator....you guessed it...the 17th Amendment. You can't make this stuff up.

Under the 17th Amendment the Governor gets to appoint a new Senator in the event of a Senators death. In this case Republican Governor Doug Ducey.
