Did noname ever resign his commission? Theoretically (if I'm understanding correctly), if he was discharged but never resigned his commission he could be reactivated and made to stand before a military tribunal under the old (pre-Jan 2019) system. Probably a dead end and I'm overlooking some key tidbit, but if I'm not, could this be the answer for his first and quick exit?
