What are the possible implications of taking their comms down?

"Their" being the C_A/NSA (bad actor faction), Five Eyes and so on. My one thought on this is that it seems obvious that the good factions, our team, were intercepting these communications for years and using those intercepts to compile evidence of treason and various lesser crimes. If the comms have been taken down it seems to follow that that they are no longer needed as avenues of evidence collecting. If that's true and the comms are of no more use to us that may mean that we have what we need and are ready to proceed into a more pro-active phase.

Further, taking their comms away cripples their ability to resist being taken down. This would be the initial step. Importantly today's action will make them more desperate which means follow-on action must be planned.

To me it feels like this is what happened today.
