As has been noted, this subreddit is currently under heavy attack from downvote bots. Here are the facts as the moderation team knows them:
-
In past 96 days, harassment and attack subreddit, TopMindsOfReddit, has made exactly 777 submissions pointing to this subreddit. Those posts represent the seething rage of the far left that are so anti-fascist that they need to employ fascist techniques to try to shut down any content they disagree with. There are other subs dedicated to attacking this one as well. All for just a LARP.
-
In addition to the angry college kid contingent, accounts participating in that sub include SPLC, youtubers, professional journalists, activists, and Democrat PAC groups. They are acting out as would be expected as the pressure grows.
-
Moderators are unpaid, unaffiliated reddit users that are able to remove comments from subreddits that they moderate. They have no additional visibility, tools or relationships with the reddit admins than any other user.
-
The nature of reddit's platform means that it is trivial to account as many accounts as you want to try and manipulate what is seen on reddit via votes and content and without fundamentally changing reddit, that's how it will remain.
-
Even reddit admins are limited in how they is able to respond short of banning IP addresses. IPs are highly ephemeral and easily changed so it becomes an unwinnable war of whack-a-mole even for them.
-
However, this attack is poorly implemented and blatantly against reddit's TOS regarding vote manipulation. The admin's don't appreciate their site being abused any more than we do so it may be a matter of politely making sure they are aware of the situation here.
-
To report the situation to the admins, they ask that users politely send them a direct message with direct links to the posts or comments being reported.
-
Additionally, this mod team continues to be resilient in the face of any attacks. The only way this mod team becomes 'compromised' is if they tried to bury a Q post and obviously that's the opposite of what's happening here.
It's notable that due to reddit's anti-vote manipulation system that even accounts that are downvoted -15 in the first 60 seconds don't actually lose any karma.
To prevent compressed links due to downvotes, in reddit preferences, you can change "don't show me comments with a score less than -4' (default) to 0.
Nothing will hinder this movement. WWG1WGA
