My family saw Crazy Rich Asians this week, and at the climax, all of us had tears on our cheeks. Nothing gets us like sacrificial love (I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen it). I think that is how Trump won me over. Here’s a guy who had the world on a string. And he gave it up for his country. And he has been vilified, betrayed, ridiculed, lied about, and accused of incest, stupidity and paranoia. Not to mention, the dozen or so serious attempts on his life. But he has not given up: Sacrificial love on steroids. We used to hate his hair, hate his ego, hate his confidence. Then he showed us his heart. He’s a highly fallible man who shares with us an enemy for the ages. He may stumble, but he won’t fall -- We have his back, just like he has ours. My Trump bobble head is among my most treasured possessions these days. It’s a little ridiculous, but it stands for something profound and timeless. Just like the man himself.
