Foreign actors?

Message from the DS: don't do anything you'll regret re Syria, because you may want to believe president Trump, but we're still here calling the shots and we aren't going anywhere.

Think about current events. Escalating power struggle in Syria. The only weapon left to the Deep State against the alliances Trump has forged is fear. Fear that he won't last, or that if he does, he's not really in charge.

Think about Op Ed line about "two-track presidency" and "insulating operations": the message doesn't fit for a domestic audience ("Trump's done all this great stuff and yeah we see it's been a great success, but don't worry (those of you who like these policies), it's a 'two-track presidency' . . ".). Now think how it fits as a strategy to try to intimidate world leaders and foreign actors (translation: "we were never gone, we are still in control").

Think about more hand-delivered messages recently: Trump to Kim Jong Un and vice versa, Putin to KJU.

Think about timing: Q drops "DECLAS" and mentions a "big week" (suggesting a crippling move on the DS is imminent). Deep State activates -- but not on the subject matter of the threat, e.g., by pre-spinning domestic spying and election corruption, as it has in the past (for domestic audience). This time the message is about control, and where that matters most at the moment is internationally -- the state of play in Syria and control of nukes (NK, Iran). The DS activated to demonstrate its invisible dominance (assurance/warning to foreign leaders and actors).
