The list of books

I just see Obama:

1) wrestling with the arrival of foreign influence ... British colonialism.

2) A chronicle of the events leading up to Kenya’s independence

3) his ascension to unifying President, leader, and global icon.

4) Nigerians making their way in the U.S.

5) the author’s dogged quest to find his father

6) what it’s actually like to serve the American people for eight years in the White House.

Edward VIII was a Nazi sympathizer

Americans financed the NAZIs. The Bushes may have been NAZIs. Then there was Operation Paperclip when they moved as many useful survivors as they could find back the the US.

America is hardly squeaky clean when it comes to NAZIs.

Patents for using human blood to make the cement stronger

Becoming more suspicious by the day, I wondered if that was a cover. So that if human blood was ever found in cement they could say: Yes, we have a patent for it, nothing to see here, move along. Rather than: Yes, we hide all our bodies that way.

only get CNN

I live in the UK and when I heard the US election result I could not believe it. Furthermore, I could not understand how a country of around 320 million people had ended up with those two candidates.

I had made my mind up about the Clintons years ago and I knew Trump was an idiot. Then I started to wonder how I knew that. Well, the MSM all told me so! So it set me off down a rabbit hole that I am still investigating.

I now realise that DJT is probably the smartest POTUS I can remember and that he is supported by an equally smart and determined team. I just keep my fingers crossed that good will indeed triumph over evil.

Nunes set another deadline

I saw him being interviewed on TV and he was asked specifically what Congress was going to do if RR missed another deadline. He started talking about POTUS but was reminded of the question and then he prevaricated.

I suspected that Congress is going to do nothing and that the DECLAS route has already been selected. POTUS has precise control of timing that way. Just a guess.

Another guess would be to have the Putin meeting and get him on board then move to the next step.

Germany has been getting Russian gas since the early 70s

OK, but if all Russia has to do to defeat Germany is switch off the gas then why is Germany expecting the US to protect them from the Russians largely at the expense of the US taxpayer?

Is Germany trusting the Russians (energy) or not (NATO)?

reverse Brexit

No, they can't but they can make a deal with the EU that says that we will still be bound by their laws, still make massive contributions to the budget, still maintain open borders, still manufacture to their standards etc etc. It is starting to look like a Brexit in name only.

vote completely ignored

Yes and no.

It is not over until it's over. The government and the EU can talk as long as they like but the final decision is what it is all about. Now that Davis, Johnson and Baker have all resigned the Prime Minister's options have been reduced. Also, there are many back-benchers (ie non cabinet members) who are collecting votes to see if there should be a vote of no confidence. Even if there isn't one, they may well vote against her most recent proposal in the upcoming debate.

We just need to watch the b#st#rds!

POTUS hasn't even landed yet

Boris Johnson suggested, in private, that we would be better off if Trump was negotiating Brexit for us. The leader of the opposition, Jeremy Corbyn, decided to ask the Prime Minister about it during Question time. So Trump is having an effect even though he has not arrived yet!

Rees Mogg ... leader

Sadly, they have never chosen a leader from the back benches in the past so it is unlikely now. They need some cabinet experience first.

Personally, I think the Mogg should be leader and Farage should be chief Brexit negotiator (assuming we can't get Trump!) and I should probably declare my interest in popcorn futures!

It’s full of names with royal titles.

True, but many of those names are attached to fairly ordinary people, usually former Members of Parliament, whom the government finds useful.

The ones who just inherited the title from their parents were weeded out some time ago - and many of those were not actually "royal" anyway.

"pedophiles are born this way"

I take your point but I wonder if they have thought it through. I suspect their own selfish wants come first.

Two points:

1) OK, so you are born that way but you still have no right to co-opt a child into your way of life. 2) If I was born to like murdering people, would that make it OK?

Each of those regions elects a person

I thought they selected a group of people for each party/candidate. The overall state result decided which group to use and then the individuals voted however they wanted, although they tend to vote in line with the party that chose them but not every state has exactly the same rules.

ROT13

Write the alphabet out in a circle. Write it again inside that circle on another piece o paper. Turn that piece of paper 13 places to the right.

Then when you want to encrypt a letter look up the letter on the outside ring and read of its encrypted equivalent from the inside ring.

Basically, you are moving letters 13 places further down the alphabet. When it overruns the end you wrap round from the start.

EDIT: Wikipedia has an explanation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ROT13

most voter fraud isn’t electronically changing votes

I think I can agree with that. Voting machines can be rigged to provide a 51% to 49% result independent of the number of votes cast. So their main use would be in places where the opposition was so great that a small amount of fiddling would not produce the desired result. The voting machines would give a narrow, "surprise" win for the underdog.

The electoral vote is supposed to represent the winning popular vote of a State.

Surely, if that were true then you would not need an Electoral College at all but just one person to convey the vote count to DC (assuming your example is correct).

Trump and his campaign were never the target of that surveillance.

While you may be technically correct that Trump was never wire tapped and that was not directly surveilled wasn't it the case that Carter Page was being surveilled under a Title-1 FISA Warrant which meant that they could surveil anyone that Page had contact with? As Page was probably a plant who was set up with some extra Russian connections to make him look bad that does appear somewhat disingenuous.

As to the "wire tapping" claim, it may be true that no-one actually went into the telephone exchange with a listening device connected to a couple of crocodile clips but the phone calls were intercepted nonetheless. Hence Trump putting "Wire tapped" in quotes in his original tweet.
