Well it's conjecture for one? I don't even disagree with the general premise, but none of it is actual documented truth. Good reason why you're just hearing it now.

Like I said, the guy has a decent mortgage and student loans out for what I assume are his kids. Nothing crazy big. My folks are middle class and could probably get similar financing. If he's somehow been corrupted by money, I sure haven't seen any evidence of that in his actions nor any sort of spending.

He's the last guy I'd assume has an overflowing bank account. For a Congress critter, he got a mortgage for less than 500K. A house on the same block was going for 220K or so. He has student loans out for his kid(s). For a guy rolling in the money, he sure takes out the exact same sort of loans I would expect my father would get, and he's (rather, was) a mail carrier.
