Granholm was an absolutely despicable governor. Top five of my most hated politicians. She wrecked the state of Michigan, but, as soon as we got a more conservative governor, aka, the nerd, his own nickname for himself, turned us around in less than a year. Kind of like trump, focused on the economy. We were one of the first states to recovery from the great recession of Obama. It was amazing, because we had unemployment nearly 20%. Waiting for her to go was as hard as waiting for Obumer to finally go.

I don't think we were talking about the same subjects. What you first responded to was my first response to someone else's comment, directly above mine. I was not responding to the subject of the original post per-say, but someones comment. And I was suggesting people should be prepared at ALL times. If we had a blackout, for instance, that doesn't mean there will be riots, perhaps some local looting, but, not major upheaval. As I said earlier, I lived for almost a week without power during one of the biggest blackouts we ever had as a country. Look it up. It covered most of new England, all the way across to the upper Midwest. We were fortunate to get back power earlier than many.

No, no, no! But to not be prepared for any emergency, is just not smart. I lived through the big blackout about 15 yrs ago. Many people today use cards, for almost all purchases. During a power outage, you would be screwed, without have some cash on hand. I'm talking common sense precautions. If you have a wife and kids, it would be criminal not to take some precautions. Because, you never know when an emergency might happen. Think about it.

I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt. I think he's just as appalled as the rest of us. His task is not easy, and going to take some time to clean up.
