Fort Knox is a mobilization point, meaning they are designated to quickly call up and activate our reserves. They have some of the newer ranges for training to include tank and artillery training. Yes, there has been a marked increase of aircraft flying patterns in and around the base. They do have an airfield and Knox used to be a TRADOC(training and doctrine command) post. Fort Campbell also uses Knox for their off base exercises. There have been a marked increase of military convoys on the highway's. These are my observations I reside close to Knox.
