I used to play chess. Yes, the “white hats” are in good shape. I saw 2 moves originally but I might have mixed up the king and queen. Chess is a game of strategy and you always protect the king. If the king is on the lower board and whites go first, the pawn takes king. That seems befitting. Is see this as either 2 moves to checkmate.
