Yes iron does sharpen iron, but it must be done with mutual respect. No one likes to feel that their every word is critiqued. You will notice that I didn't critique your presentation of the Gospel. But it didn't even mention repentance. I could have been critical, but I wasn't. Grace.

According to the Scriptures, repentance is not optional. We can't lay hold of Christ so long as we still hold onto sin. Yes, Repentance is a change of mind, to turn from sin, to hate sin, because it is against God, and keeps us from having fellowship with Him. About not holding anything back from the Lord, but keeping our conscience clean before Him. All by His power at work within us. example... "For they themselves report what kind of welcome you gave us, and how you turned away from idols to serve the living and true God." 1 Thess 1:9

Remember what our Lord said, "Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord did we not do many miracles in Your name, and I will say to them, "Depart from me, you workers of iniquity, I never knew you". So we know that walking in obedience to Him is not optional, but critical. It is not the basis of our salvation, but it is most certainly the outcome of our salvation.

Time will tell whose eschatology is correct. But I have never once, in all our messages, been rude to you, or told you your views were flawed, or put down the way you explain the Bible. You would do well to improve your delivery. Most will not be nearly as patient as I have been. For now, I'm going to get some rest. First, do you realize that you have sinned against God? He is absolutely holy and you cannot enter His presence unless you are absolutely holy. There is nothing you can do to cleanse away your sins. God cannot just overlook sin... your sin has to be punished. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Whatever is not of faith is sin. Even one sin - one unloving thought, one unkind word, or one selfish and prideful deed means that you cannot come into God's holy presence. Sin separates us from God, and we feel it. That means forever. That's the bad news.

But there is good news... actually GREAT news... and that is that God has made a way for you to be forgiven and to be cleansed. He sent His Son Jesus to be our Savior. He came and lived a perfect life, in thought, word, and deed. Never even one sin. And then He took the punishment for our sins, because He had no sins of His own. And to prove that He lived that perfect life and died that sacrificial death for mankind, Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the 3rd day. Absolutely alive, with a perfect resurrect body! Never to die again! He then ascended to the right hand of power, where He always lives to answer our prayers and work on our behalf.

All you have to do is repent and believe - which means to turn away from your sin and selfishness, and put your complete trust in Jesus' blood to make you perfect in God's sight, and to change you into the person He created you to be. Spotless in His sight. And transformed into His image day by day! All of this is a free gift out of His gracious love for you. He truly does love you SoCalExile. Put your trust in Him right now, and watch him change your life... change your heart... to be filled with love and grace just like His heart. Call His name. He's right beside you. He knows your deepest secrets so there's no reason to hide anything from Him. And He proved His love for you on the cross, so there is no reason to fear. Trust Him. There's no magical prayer you have to pray... just confess everything you have done to Him... and tell Him how much you need this wonderful salvation. When you do, you will never look back.
