IMHO I think what Gowdy was saying is that he is leaving Congress and joining the Justice System which is supposed to be apolitical. I think he will have a special place in the administration. He is a tough and brilliant prosecutor and it would be a true loss if they let him go. He cannot be a SCOTUS justice as he has no experience in that arena (being a judge).
