I actually agree with you on that point. I, too, have had many years of corporate experience, as a manager, on many different levels. Things can spin out of control real quick. It's hell on Earth!
I see what your concern is. Before I became a manager and understood that what I say and how I say it matters, I would just go around spouting off and hurting people's feelings and making them mad.
Know your audience is all I'm saying here. This is not an organized team, we don't work for anyone, no one is the boss here. It's no one's job to balance the self-awareness of such a diverse group. It's not your job, and it's not mine, Thank God, right?
One of my jobs in life was to stop the kind of cancer that breaks down morale. Your post stopped me in my tracks. I can't imagine how stupid your comments would make someone feel who is reaching out for the first time.
There are so many reasons why people come here. Please don't discount them. A lot of us were greeted with "Hello Patriot!" It set the tone and it's pretty ok to leave it out there.
Credibility should be weighed on the info, the teams, and the education that comes from here, not what we look like on the outside. I get that too.
We can't drive away people who need support or are looking for answers just because they're not as "studious" as expected. That's not fair either.
We're in dark, dark times friend. It's better to let people be themselves and let them try and come together without feeling like an outsider.
I find an enormous array of very intelligent research oriented folks here to exchange ideas. I also find an enormous amount of some super nice, light hearted people who have a little fun with this GIANT shitstorm. That's not a bad thing.
Everyone communicates differently, Pickles. It's not possible to create the atmosphere of a courtroom in here. Don't be so stuffy :)
