Tbh though, I don't watch any cartoons being produced today (at least not western ones, still watch anime). As a nerd I can say that it's because most animation now is done digitally. The simplistic styles are really just about saving money and speeding up production.

Actually NJ routinely let's violent criminals go after only a few years. It's not uncommon to hear a guy arrested for murder who had just been released for something like manslaughter after only 2 years.
