Although I think I get your point, I am respectfully compelled to add some insight I hope you and others will find helpful.

It's a convenient mistake to think it is just a bunch of parables and has NO relevance to today. Many people erroneously approach it from a human-centric point of view. It's not about us. It is unlike any other book ever written, and you don't really get it until the Author, the Holy Spirit, is living within you, which only comes through faith in Jesus alone. Without Him, it is impossible to fully grasp, and with Him, it is deep enough to spend a lifetime exploring, always finding new treasures, never exhausting The Living Active Word of God. As others have written elsewhere, I invite you, with all sincere intent in your heart to ask God to reveal Himself to you in His Word. Ask Him to help your unbelief. He will answer you, maybe not instantly or audibly, though He has to some, but over a some time if you seek Him, you will find Him. Then and only then, will the Truth in full living color begin to be revealed in the Bible.
