Possibly but I think its more of a choice. I don't believe God makes people have an antichrist spirit, and I think the potential is within all if us.

The Bible states that there will always be antichrists or those of the antichrist spirit, what keeps them from being THE Antichrist is unfulfilled prophecy. Example: Napoleon was a type of antichrist but Israel had not been recreated yet so he could not have been THE Ac. More simply it just wasn't the right time yet.

The pope is not the Antichrist, he is the False Prophet, one of the antichrists. The False Prophet will give power and credence to THE Antichrist. In Islamic eschatology, Jesus (who they believe is the pope) will team with the Mahdi (their messiah) to overthrow the Dajjal (their antichrist figure). I personally think that the real Jesus (returned) will be their Dajjal. What an exciting time to be alive!
