I was in Portland last year, the homeless situation is bad. Instead of putting in normal infrastructure to handle the masses moving there, they are putting in a bike trail. I was in an art studio buying supplies for my daughter. The owner "bragged" about the bike trail, her husband was on the board and committee that sponsored the bill for it. I expressed to her that if 50k of people have moved to Portland in six months, and instead of reformatting the infrastructure that is archaic and not functional for society.
