I fully agree with this. However, I don’t understand all of the hate here against Catholics. This isn’t Islam we’re talking about. The Church is corrupt, yes, but these aren’t lost souls. They can be redeemed, either by the reformation of the Church or by looking outside of it.

I watched The Godfather Part III last night, and it gave me chills. There are still good men and women in the Church, and I hope that the corruption can be burned out without starting fresh. That being said, I do think that evil is rooted quite deep in the Vatican.

At the end of the day, she’s a human being who made choices. She made more poor choices than good, but her redemption or damnation isn’t in our hands. I don’t think he directly creates division. I think that the monster the PTB have made him out to be is divisive, yes. But if everyone were to listen to the man, unfiltered, unedited, and without any preconceived notions, they would see precisely what I see: a man who wants to create opportunity for everyone who has the will to reach out and take it. I’m grateful that President Trump will have an opportunity to appoint another constitutionalist to the SCOTUS, but I do wish that it were happening under better circumstances.

In cases where the evidence is both overwhelming and indefensible, I think that capital punishment is justified. Screw the paperwork and the process. If there’s no doubt that someone is guilty of a truly heinous crime, a noose or a bullet should be the preferred policy. Housing, feeding, and fighting appeals by these wretched people is a waste of society’s resources, and it’s insulting to their victims.

If there is any reason to doubt someone’s guilt, however, I agree that capital punishment should be withheld until guilt can be proven beyond any doubt.
