Wonderland Club was a global online child porn network that was busted in 1998. Hundreds of victims were never identified. One was. A Portuguese boy who went missing in the same year. People dealt with in UK courts were nobody special.

This was followed by 'Operation Ore' in which thousands of UK people were suspected of buying child porn simply for having their credit card details in a porn website's records. It was suggested there were politicians, celebrities, executives, GPs, etc included in it.

Both investigations started as FBI operations with different names and information on UK suspects was passed to the UK police. Would be ideal for blackmailing any important people found in those records.
