I'm not a fan of Monsanto one bit. Ban Glyphosate. And I'm not sure we really need too many more technological advancements for advancements sake.
We have more raw scientific knowledge now than 100 years ago, use that knowledge to get more productivity out of natural, and not artificial resources. There are plenty of solutions. No more dumping chemicals on your grass, everyone encouraged to grow something natural. Getting rid of all gmos and quitting with all the gm entirely. Enough with the vaccines.
We can figure out what foods cure or help with ailments. What foods cure cancer? Eat those foods all the time. And ban everything that fucks up your innards. Food will be more expensive, but when it's bad food that's contributing to skyrocketing health care costs, it's a cost savings to make sure the food is good. It almost might be a cost savings to give everyone those healthy foods for free and tell them what to do with them. It actually might be a major cost savings.
There are things the government should be able to do better than individuals or the free market. In those cases, we should figure out how the government can do it better and have the government do it. I think the government does roads pretty well. The roads aren't great, but if we didn't have government, those roads wouldn't be there. I think internet should be like roads, taken care of by the government. The government can do it cheaper than the private sector and the free market. I live in a rural area where I can't get blazing fast internet. Physically, the government would be able to get this done. Same with food. Government contracts with farmer to produce organic wheat, everyone gets a bushel of wheat, go there and pick it up. Pretty simple. A bushel of wheat is roughly 50 pounds or 10 gallons. $20 a bushel. 0.40 a pound. 1.5 in bulk at the health food store. And do banking different.
